The X Row for Triathletes:
Triathletes: How to improve performance and prevent Injury – by Joey Boland Physiotherapist
Here is a quick easy to perform exercise that helps improve your swim time and helps you avoid shoulder pain when the training load increases. I find a lot of my triathletes suffer with a stiff upper back due to long hours on the bike, this without question impacts on your ability to perform an efficient swim stroke and puts you at risk of injury.
If you are not performing these types of exercises regularly you automatically are at a disadvantage when competing. Staying injury free during the season is key to reaching your potential and functional exercises such as the ones above are as good as there is for this sport.
